You've reached fundraising central for the Jamaica Read-a-thon 2023. The Jamaica Read-a-thon is the primary fundraiser for A Better Jamaica's Jamaica Reads program.

Our Jamaica Reads program deploys senior citizens to local elementary schools where they provide one-on-one tutoring to 1st-grade students struggling with the acquisition of their reading skills.

You can help us get more 1st graders reading at grade level — and experience greater academic success — by becoming a reader/fundraiser for The Jamaica Read-a-thon 2023.

As a reader, you'll spend 15 minutes of your time reading your favorite children's book(s) on Tuesday, November 28th between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm.

As a reader and fundraiser, you'll leverage your participation by asking your family, friends and/or colleagues to sponsor your participation as a reader. Starting a fundraiser is easy to do, and it's fun. We'll even give you all the tools you'll need to make a difference.

Like last year, this year's Jamaica Read-a-thon will take place virtually — making it easy for anyone to participate from the comfort of their workplace or home. You can literally read from anywhere you have a stable internet connection for your phone, tablet, laptop, or desktop.
